  • If you smell gas, hear hissing near a gas line, feel unwell, or a carbon monoxide alarm sounds: leave the building, avoid switches/flames, call 911 or the gas utility from outside, then contact a qualified professional.

  • If there is active water leaking: move valuables away from the area, use towels/buckets if safe, and avoid electrical equipment near water.

  • If heating has failed: keep interior doors open where appropriate, protect vulnerable pipes from freezing, and use only properly vented/approved temporary heat sources according to their instructions.

  • Do not repeatedly reset a boiler, bypass safety controls, disassemble equipment, or use an oven/stove to heat the home.

  • Have the boiler brand/model, error code, thermostat setting, photos/video, and property address ready.
